I HAVE 30+ YEARS working in many facet's of the Insurance Industry, and it looks as if this whole thing has been put together by a few Idiot's!! I watched Pelosi address the house late sat. 11/7/09, and could not believe how little she really knows about how thing's work with health Insurance. She is either Lieing thru her teeth or she is a complete MORON!! As an example; Pelosi at one point stated, "No  longer will Insurance Company's stand between you and your doctor telling you whether or not you can have a method of treatment." They never ever have!!They only thing Insurance Co's state is whethter or not they will pay for IT!! You can have any treatment you want in the USA. If you really want it, Pay for it yourself! In your new Utopia you won't even have that choice!! PELOSI, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT REALLY WORK"S YOU IDIOT!!!! Leave Insurance Matters to Insurance Expert's and stop putting your nose into thing's you know nothing of!

A random section of the bill:  Section 307, Land Transfer:

"Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and all other agencies and departments of the United States are authorized to transfer, at no cost, land and improvements to the Service for the provision of health care services.  The Secretary is authorized to accept such land and improvements for such purposes."  Comments?

We own a small business in Peoria IL.  This company was almost bankrupt when we purchased it 3 years ago.  Today we are building it back up and are hiring more people today.  If this bill goes through and includes changes to out employees insurance, added taxes to our company and further government intrusion. . . we will NOT go along nor will we pay the added taxes.

I am against this bill.  I think it violates our constitutional rights. It will bankrupt our country and force everyone on a government option.  Seniors will have fewer benefits. All it does is give the federal government more power.  Just say no! No 2000 page bill.

Bill 11/5/2009, 2:44 p.m.
I think it is a lot better than what
the GOP has offerd.

I don't want to pay for this bill and even if at this point they want to claim that I won't, indirectly... I will, through price hikes.

I am not an intellectually underdeveloped Neanderthal (as the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi thinks) I know that this bill will have a much larger price tag than what they are claiming (which is just a lie to get their bill passed), and in my opinion is already unacceptable. Once passed they will have the freedom to do as they please, and I would like to decide how I live and die on my own, without any government interference. I also realize that once passed, the bills true cost will be gradually revealed and it will be too late to dispute. They will appear to be justified when they raise our taxes claiming that, though they promised "not to raise taxes" there is no other choice now that the bill is passed, too many people are depending on it to allow it to fail.

I am very pleased with my current health insurance and do not want to have any risk of losing it. If a government option is established I am sure that my employer will opt for the government health insurance to avoid the hassle of dealing with the insurance companies and the alleged cost of the government option will no doubt be cheaper for the companies who already provide health insurance for their employees. So... in effect by offering the government option... you take away my current health coverage.

Also for many small business owners,(of which I know several) especially thous who only have a couple of employees.
The requirement of providing health coverage will put them out of business since most small businesses make just enough to get buy without employment by someone else, and many small business owners still need to remain employed by someone else in addition to the income provided by their business just to get by financially.
As far as their employees go, if insurance is what they want/need why not just look for another job that provides what they are looking for, besides many people who I know who are working for a small businesses work for them in addition to their primary job which provides health insurance.

I also REFUSE to pay for...
ABORTION,

HEALTH CARE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE;

VISITING OUR COUNTRY,
LIVING HERE ILLEGALLY,
REFUSING TO WORK TO AVOID PAYING CHILD SUPPORT

I also believe that if you want to try and tell me what my health care coverage should be than you(government workers including the President) should have the same thing. Have you forgotten you are our representatives not our rulers. Listen to our views and stop trying to tell us how to live our lives.

Janice

Don't want nor need this plan!  It will destroy what is left of our country after only 10 months of Obama, Pelosi and Reid!!!!
How about fixing step by step they things that are broken---1. don't deny coverage for pre-existing conditions; 2. Tort reform.  3. Insurance competition across state lines.  4.  Tax allowances(or rebates) to cover working poor(legals only).

Jack

We don't need another 2000 pages of government interference with markets, usurping personal responsibility, regulation, power grabbing, paternalism and pandering to special interests. Don't pass this monstrosity! The only legislation needed is to retract existing programs and regulations. Why don't you all just take an extending Christmas break starting now through the end of your terms. I'd much rather pay you all for doing nothing than to busy yourselves destroying a once proud and industrious people.

Yes, we need health care reform, but not run by or mandated by government. They cannot run the Post Office without huge deficits, our schools are a mess; running up deficits, city, county governments are broke, libraries and the list goes on. Medicare is fraught with fraud and waste, going broke. If, as Mr. Obama stated, we can save hundreds of millions of dollars on Medicare expenses without cutting services; why has it not been done already? What is stopping the government from saving money right now? Do we have millions to waste until the right healhcare comes along??? Implement tort reform, open up interstate shopping for health insurance coverage, fix Medicare, then maybe we talk about the goverment helping those who truly need help.

When the House of Representatives and their families are willing to submit to the same healthcare bill they are trying to cram down our throats, then I will be willing to consider reading the bill and seeing whether it meets the needs of our family.  This is CRAP!!!

America needs a new health-care system because the current system is not working. Health-care delivery has failed at the personal level, workplace, state, and federal level. Please give the American people the same medical and dental care that all government employees receive; we would be happy to be included in the plan with Congress.

The reality is we are the only 'advanced" industrialized country that does not provide healthcare to all of its citizens. Although I do not agree with every aspect and, this may not be perfect legislation, it is a step in the right direction of stopping the insurance industry tryranny against tax paying americans and assuring that no-one in this great country of ours has to lose everything, avoid seeing a doctor or live in constant fear because they are denied medical treatment for lack of money or insurance.

Seniors are very important & Medicare Advantage to them is extremely valuable. We must keep Medicare Advantage for Seniors, no matter what.

The federal government has no constitutional authority to impose this bill.  Aside from that, the word "penalty" appears WAAAAYYYY too many times. This is tyranny.

Political Power Grab!  That's all this bill is.  Look at the BRITS..Their national healthcare system is the 3rd largest employer WORLDWIDE.  Democrats know that by nationalizing healthcare they would create an enormous work force beholden to them for jobs, wage increases, etc. keeping DEMS in power.  Think about it, who among us, in ANY business, would completely change our business plan when well over 85% of our customers are happy with our product??  ANYONE?????

Mark

No How! No Way! You have got to stop this horrendous piece of legislation. Leave my health care decisions to me and my physician. I do not want the govenment involved in any way , shape or form in making my health care decisions. We need to get these left wing zealots out of office . They are running our country into the ground with their radical policies.

What happens to medicare recepients who are living right up to the edge of their Social Security Payments. I currently have Blue Cross Blue Shield "Blue medicare" Medicare advantage HMO. Of course, I live on a fixed income and if my costs go up I am so close to the edge that I can't pay higher costs. What are our options with the Obama plan?

Sharon
11/3/2009, 6:58 a.m.
Thanks to Representative Tom Price, M.D. for his continued opposition to the tax and spend Democrats.  The entire Republican Party needs to demonstrate that they stand for freedom and limited government as Mr Price does.  The Republican Party needs to strongly endorse conservative candidates  and stop endorsing so called "moderate" candidates.

Charles
11/2/2009, 10:57 p.m.
All we need to do is fix what's broke.  All of healthcare is not broke.  None of this will reduce cost of healthcare.
Congress should fix medicare and get rid of the fraud first.  Government should not be dictating what kind of medical insurance I need.  I could go on and on.

Perry
11/2/2009, 4:21 p.m.
The current government plan will increase the cost of health care for most people because of the massive bureaucracies being created, while failing to do anything that could lower medical costs, such as enacting tort liability reform, permitting health insurance companies to sell across state lines, lowering tax deductibility to make consumers more sensitive to costs, and will reduce the number of doctors willing to accept government fee schedules and lower the quality of medical care provided under such fee schedules.

Sarah
11/2/2009, 3:15 p.m.
I quote Nancy Reagan...Just Say "NO"
I quote Ronald Reagan..."The Government IS the problem"

I do not want the government to have anything in any way to do with my "health" plan.  That would include Medicare; Which I was forced to go on.  We have to run the course on Social Security to cover the obligations the Government has already made to the existing citizens planning on or already on Medicare and collecting Social Security...But for the future both systems...like the IRS should be on a sunset program and phased out.

George Bush was right - support citizens planning their own health and security and LEAVE Social Security as a welfare program for the indigent.  Working people should OWN their own plans...for life.  I live in fear of what the government is going to "decide" for me now that I am too old to do anything about it.

We cannot afford another entitlement plan. This plan is outrageous and uncalled for. I'm suggesting the GOP define how many new Departments will be created and how many new government employees will be needed to staff this plan.

Mark
11/2/2009, 9:50 a.m.
I don't want the government to gain control over healthcare. I'm not even sure government is qualified to advise on the issue. Beyond that, I don't know enough to advise. And, now that I mention that, I wish the government could be honest and come to the same conclusion about it's role in healthcare. Should governemnt coordinate a group of legitimate healthcare experts in an effort to improve healthcare? Perhaps. If, indeed, healtchare "needs" improvement, by all means, find the experts and let them come up with a plan or 2 or 3. If the plan is a substantial improvement over the existing plan, roll with it. Change for change sake is absurd.

To be quite honest, I did not thoroughly read all 1990 pages and am sure to sound misinformed in my opinion. I do however know that as a recipient of my employer's proposal for health care for the next open enrollment, I will NOT be participating. While I know medical insurance is not a necessary option an employer must provide an employee, I still think that the costs should be LOWER than what we are expected to pay at the beginning of 2010.
It's a slap in the face to all of us out here that have to deal with what is mandated as a "good" insurance plan by our government officials. Apparently they haven't had to survive off of lower wages and a higher cost of living. Oh yeah, that's right. They are exempt from paying taxes, and their salary is quite handsome as well. Thank goodness this won't be a consuming issue for Nancy.
Behind the closed doors where this fabulous health care act for America was being born, the rest of us on the wrong side of the door are expected to abide by, and choose from, the ONLY options available to us. I can't speak for everyone, but I can assure Ms. Pelosi that the nation is not her staunchest supporter at the moment. Most people are just trying to survive in middle-America and make a decent life for themselves. There are huge expenses like mortgages, college tuition, car payments, student loans, and now medical insurance.
Maybe Ms. Pelosi can then go behind the door again and find a new way for all of us to spend the rest of our tax dollars. You know, the ones that we are taxed on before we get our paycheck, and then are taxed on again when we purchase an item at a store (to keep the economy strong!), and then yet again every April......for tax season. Our accountant's or computer software then helps us figure out if we will owe any MORE money towards taxes just in case there were some missed.
Please, by all means, let's thank Ms. Pelosi for taking the time to write an addendum to a sinking economy and Health care Act, and hope that national morale is boosted 'cuz she's looking out for us!

I need a bullet point version that tells me what's in there - this is nuts!  How can I legitimately make a judgment on 1990 pages of red tape?  We need to make adjustments to our current health care industry and keep it private - it is NOT something that the government should run period!  Show me where in the constitution that we are all entitled to health care?

Beyond belief!  Unconstitution! Where is Tort Reform; allow Insurance Cos. to compete in all 50 states (or all "57" in case of B.H.O.)The very worse piece of garbage to come out of Congress in my 76 years.  Have they loss their minds, $1.055T on top of the $13T debt.  Our great,great-grandchildren will never be able to repay China.

1.How can any ine read this peace of ?????? with out a library of all the laws and regs. passed in the last 50 years. This is rediculus.
2. As I scaned through it I really didn't see where it improve the helth system. All it did is to give the Gov. more power over our lives.
3. The worst part is the price tag.
4. If you read and undrstand it carfully you will see were the gav. will have control over what helth care we receive and what it will cost.
5. If you look at the health system today you will see that the number of Doctors and Nurses are decreasing already. My Doctor is telling me that he won't be able to stay in pactice and pay his employs. (more people out of work) I could go on but I wounder who  is looking.

THE BILL IS TOO CONVOLUTED TO BE USEFUL.IT WOULD BE MORE HELPFUL IF IT READ SOMETHING LIKE THIS.
1.NO PERSON SHALL BE DENIED COVERAGE FOR ANY REASON EXCEPT NON PAYMENT OF PREMIUM.
2. ALL PEOPLE SHALL PAY THE SAME DOLLAR AMOUNT IN PREMIUMS FROM BIRTH UNTIL DEATH.
3. IF AN UNCOVERED PERSON SHALL NEED TREATMENT HE SHALL PAY THE SAME RATES AS AN INDIVDUAL THAT IS COVERED. NO DOUBLE STANDARDS.
3.IF A PERSON DOES NOT HAVE COVERAGE AND HE GETS SICK IT IS HIS OR HER PROBLEM. COVERAGE AND PROTECTION FROM COST IS NOT A RIGHT.
4.NO PERSON SHALL SUE THEIR PHYSICIAN UNLESS HE IS GUILTY OF GROSS NEGLIGENCE. LAWYERS SHALL RECEIVE HOURLY FEES ONLY AND NO PERCENTAGE OF DAMAGES.
5.ALL PAYMENT FOR TREATMENT SHALL BE VERIFIED BY QUALIFIED PERSONEL.
6.STRINGENT LICENSING REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE MET FOR ALL GOVERNMENT PROVIDERS OF EQUIPMENT OR TREATMENT TO PREVENT FRAUD. PUNISHMENT FOR FRAUD SHALL BE PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT, NOT BY FINE.(PROFIT IS ALMOST ALWAYS MUCH GREATER THAN THE FINE.
7.ALL PERSONS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS OR INACTIONS. NOT THE GOVERNMENT.

IF A COMMON SENSE BILL SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD WERE PUT FORTH I BELIEVE THE PEOPLE WOULD SUPPORT IT. BUT THE MUMBO JUMBO YOU POLITICIANS PUT TOGETHER IS PATHETIC. IT SHOULD ONLY BE 20 PAGED MAX.

I think some conservative patriots better start fighting back or they will be voted out of office along with the liberal rats!  I'd like to hear some passion, conviction and even some anger when they are interviewed or questioned, not the same old "inside voice."  Otherwise my assumption is that you really don't care that our Constitution is being purposefully trampled and we are loosing our sovereignty to be replaced by socialism.

I am against this, it's against our basic freedoms. Freedom of choice, and freedom of Government oppression!

I think that health care should not be Gov.owed not a public operated .The senators and and president should have to do the same if the american people have to.

Carol & Steve 10/31/2009, 3:50 p.m.
How about some plain English so ALL can understand this bill?
I do NOT believe any congress man or woman in either house or of either party actually will read all of this bill. Then they can all say they voted but if they really knew what was in it  -- they would not have voted for it.  Himmm  where did we hear that one before? I tried to find the part for Medicare but after an hour I gave up.It will cost more but I do not think we will be any better care.

This bill represents the thinking and efforts of the Far Left to increase control of government in our lives, to take away our liberties and freedom of choice in one of the most important areas of our lives.......our health care. In their desire for this, and to (as they proclaim) extend health care to a minority number, they are punishing the majority of Americans who take personal responsibility for their health care coverage and are happy with that coverage.  Other measures can be taken to address coverage for the real number of uninsured without causing a state of "rationing" for the whole number.  This bill must be stopped!!!

Kenneth
10/31/2009, 12:29 p.m.
I see very little if any comment regarding the "ultimate" goal in this bill... which is NOT improving health care in America.. but rather, in concert with cap and trade(tax), the undermining of Individual Freedom and overthrow of the Constitution of the United States.  Those entrenched in Washington (yes..even Republicans) are too Politially Correct to identify the REAL GOALS of the leftists who now occupy the White House.  Total rejection of these bills which represent a repudiation of the underlying foundations of this country MUST be THE GOAL for every Representative and Senator who stood with his/her hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Any who do not actively attempt to prevent these bills from being enacted do not deserve the positions with which they have been entrusted.

Paul
10/31/2009, 12:06 p.m.
More goverment involvement is never the solution to our country's problems. We must foster competition in health care, easy accessablity to heath care, it must be affordable and protect us from anyone who wants to abuse God's laws. Our elected officials work for the people of the USA and they know our plea. To do anything else would hurt Anerica and it's people. Please stop lying to us and stop wasting your precious time on govement control of health care.

David
10/31/2009, 11:40 a.m.
SEC 59B imposes a tax on anyone who does not have acceptable health care benefits. The amount of the tax is 2.5% of the excess of the modified adjusted gross income over the gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1). But I don't find any section 6012. Where is that section?

Section 222 lists essential benefits. Among those benefits are maternity care and well baby care. My wife and I are well beyond child bearing age. Will we have to pay more for an insurance plan that includes maternity benefits we will never use?

The bill is nearly 2000 pages long and written in a very confusing manner. Was it done that way deliberately for the purpose of obfuscation?

Who wrote this bill? It's a sweet deal for insurance companies since people will be forced to buy their product. Did the insurance companies write it?

What part of the constitution authorizes the federal government to do any of this?

Mary

I believe only way to defeat this action in congress is at the election box.  Seems to me elected officials have forgotten for whom they work.  We spoke and are still speaking -- but to deaf ears.  I suggest we change out every elected seat in Washington and start fresh.  You all voted yourself a raise -- while forgetting all of us over 65 had paid our Social Security and Medical Insurance for years.  You all squandered what was to be set aside for our later years.  I believe it doesn't matter any more what we think.  You all will do what you want until we remove you.
No one person can read all of this bill and do the research of each and every section referred to before you all take your vote.
What happened to President OBama's promise that he would go through it line by line? LIE after LIE is what we are getting -- and it seems no one has the sheer guts to say enough.  Every one of you should be rising up and demanding that the Constitution of this United States should be followed to the letter.  We ARE one Nation UNDER GOD.  Stand up for that principal -- Please.  While we still have our America. I have printed every bill in its entirety.  I worked in the legal industry for years.  The average person does not have access to a copy and most could never understand the legal language.  Congress needs to wake up.  But none of you really care since you will still have your full salary and your health care for the rest of your life even if you are voted out at next election.  God have mercy on you.

Tim 10/31/2009, 10:50 a.m.
you have got to be kidding....
FIX what we have
Tort reform, Regulate coverage
NOT TAKE OVER the best system in the world
This is CRAZY - THIS will further bankrupt this country
Doesn't ANYONE in congress know they are bankrupting the US - Argentina Economic Collapse here we come
WAKE UP CONGRESS
WAKE UP before we self destruct

This health "reform" bill is ridiculous. Who on earth can read this stuff and actually understand it ? I urge all reps to VOTE NO on any of these upcoming proposals...Why not do a trial run in a couple of states on select items (different bills) such as allowing purchase of insurance across state lines; tort reform; tax rebates so people can purchase their own .... SEPARATE LEGISLATION for each. WE do not need sweeping reform with huge price tag when it's uncertain any of it will work! Makes no sense to me! Washington, GET REAL!

No matter what is in the bill now, or when it eventually is voted on - if it passes it will eventually lead to a single provider of health care, the U.S. government.  They will "provide" less care, much more costly, and with much greater time intervals than we have now in the best system on earth.  It is just one more giant step in the direction of total control by the arrogant, condescending idiots we've elected to "represent" us.

over 1900 pages of crap if people can't see that the goverment does not want the people to know what they are doing or they would not have a bill with this many pages of crap only 30 to 40 pages needed for real reform. I can not belive we are paying these people for this BS

It seems to me that our Congress / Government  doesn't listen to the people and do whatever they want to do. I think it's time that the rules be change. When a bill like this that will effect 100 % of the citizens. The people should have the right to vote on it. Congress has too much power over our lives. We also should have the right to vote for their pay increases. It's okay not to increase those that are on Social Security but it's okay for them to get a raise What gives them the right to get a raise without getting approval from the people they serve .
They have their own retirement package which is the best in the world. Since Social Security funds are failing I think it's time for Congress to give up their retirement package and put in into the Social Security system so we all can share the new funding and they can see what the average citizen lives on.
The problem I see is that most of  these programs Congress passes do not effect them. It's time they are not exempt from them. What is good for us should be good for them. Aren't we all suppose to be treated equally ?

Marianne

I am sick at heart that we are being railroaded into this farce if a bill...Just look at the Swine flu shots ....we were "promised"more than enough and now there's a shortage...ha ha ha , the jokes on......US?????? Pelosi and that bunch of elitist nuts are running the asylum.

Lawrence
10/30/2009, 6:32 p.m.
Let all the Congress that wants this bill passed along with the President have this bill, pay for this bill from their money and not the tax payer and I will be happy.  The only problem is that they have the insurance that we never did give to them in the first place along with a built in raise each year even if they ask everyone else to take a cut in pay and they care less about the people that put them in office each and everyday.  They were elected to represent the people of the U.S.A., but they represent their selves !!!!!!!
I think that this is a sure way to destroy the health system in the U.S., because it takes away from a system that needs modified, but not destroyed.
Good job Congress!!!!!!!!
I hear from everyone that speaks for the President and all the Democrats that this is what the people want.  It is amazing that I have talked to one heck of a lot of people and all but a couple of them think that this country is going to the power of one person to dictate to everyone what they are going to do in the future!!!!!!

No one single politician is concerned about our health. If they were, then we would have heard mention of the importance of getting proper diet and exercise. But you can't tell that to people and expect to get reelected. That's why we are in the midst of an enormous vote-purchasing endeavor. Well, I don't buy it.

Laura

I plan to read this in its entirety.  At this point, I know where the 3,000,000 jobs will be -- in administering this program.  Has the cost to administer it been included in the costs quoted by the Administration?  I spent 40 years working for the DOD and applying the OPM rules and regulations.  Those regs won't begin to compare to these.  It is most frightening.

Jack

I am NOT in favor of having the Federal goverment running Healtcare!  I would think that there are better ways of reduing cost.  One example would be to have insurance companies compete with in a state.

Calmer heads must prevail. YES, this bill represents the demise of the world's best healthcare system; just as was advertised by Candidate Obama and President Obama and the Majority Party. Why does anyone seem shocked that Obama and Pelosi are doing exactly what they said they would do? Rather than escalating this into a all out party war, the Conservative Minority should calmly state the true extent of the problems with the American Health Insurance system and provide a clear solution to ONLY those issues that represent a problem/challenge (HR 3400).

Let the vitriolic spew be solely from the left. Now is the time to keep our heads and provide sound and steady leadership. Allowing ourselves to fall prey to the emotional rhetoric that is so counterproductive would surely spell defeat on an issue too important to lose for lack of control. Give Americans credit for their intellect. While the last election may not serve as the best example, I for one believe the collective ability of an enlightened majority will win the day. If you live in a district whose representative or senator is in favor of HR 3962, YOU HAVE WORK TO DO!

The President's and Speaker's initiatives on healthcare, cap & tax and the pending tsunami of inflation are the seeds that will sprout deep roots of conservatism for America's future if we just don't lose our heads and stay the course.

This is just ridiculous.  Everyone who supports this bill should be tarred and feathered.  I for one will be working to make sure that all who had anything to do with this monstrosity never holds public office again.  The majority party's  total disregard for this country and the Americans who have spoken out against them and they way they are driving this country down the road to socialism speaks volumes. It is time for party politics to be shredded and real Americans stand up to do the job they were elected to do - or get out of office. Keep on fighting for those of us who have no voice.

I think the government forgot who they work for, the people of the United States of America.  It is nice that you and other republicans came up with better bills but the democrats are not interested in them.  Please put your effort into stopping this and any other health care bill. We do not want the government controlling our health care in any way.  Thank you!

Another gigantic increase in the size of government, further intrusion into our private lives and further erosion of our personal freedom. How sad.

No personal offense intended but it is a joke to think that our federal government could run a health delivery system.  Our government cannot run anything without it being wasteful and full of corruption.  Quit government spending!  I am sick and tired of it!  This administration is not hearing the American people - leave my healthcare alone.  I am a small business owner and currently pay $1,900 per MONTH for health insurance for my husband, daughter and myself.  My daughter and I are both type 1 diabetics which is a red flag for underwriters!  However, I still would much rather see tort reform or implement some type of laws to stop frivolous lawsuits and perhaps legislation to curb pre-existing conditions.  This is simply an ego trip for Reid, Pelosi and Obama.

This is a complete nightmare!  No wonder Peolsi was so "generous" in agreeing to post this on the Internet for the sake of publicized "transparency", knowing that very few ordinary citizens would be able to wade thru these 2,000 pages of utter garbage.  This could be intentionally "overwhelming the system" which is a Saulinsky Marxist tactic, the same tactic that has been practiced by the Obama administration for the past 9 months.  God help America!

This bill must not be passed.  We need reform but let's do it right.

Will ANYONE in congress stand up to Obama, & call him out on ALL the lies he's been spreading???? He said that he would sit down with ANY member of congress & go over the bill "line by line" -- SOMEONE IN CONGRESS PLEASE CALL HIS BLUFF!!! Go over the bill line by line, & do it on LIVE TV, so the American people can watch & get truly informed.

Lastly, in regards to all the pending legislation out there... someone explain to the president & congress the definition of the word ILLEGAL - as in illegal alien! According to Webster's Dictionary:

Illegal -- PROHIBITED BY LAW OR BY OFFICIAL OR ACCEPTED RULES.

**If I have to also define the word "prohibited" for congress -- then there's no hope for any of us**

Takeover of health care is only part of the Obama and cohorts' plan.  The takeover of our entire country and denying constitution and individual freedoms is what they have on their agenda.  We have only two votes, and sadly the leaders for decades have declined to stand up to illegal immigration, education (wrongful ideas put into school agendas) and standing strong for American ideals.  Now, it may be too late as so many things are in background...such as control of elections through illegal voters?  We are NOT afraid to say how we feel and we are disgusted with Congress and their lack of willpower to stand up for what is right in the past.  Our troops are dieing, and other civilians, due to our lack of support and fact that we have given up since WWII and it is disgraceful!  Strong offense is a strong defence and we have no leadership now.  Please do your best to get Congress (Senate and House members) to stand up for American citizens....We love our Country. Obama healthcare?  Death for those of us at our age.  Cap and Trade bill?  Loss of jobs and correct title is: "Crap and Raid".  Republican party leadership?  Too many of them are nothing but Democrat "lite".  We can only hope and pray that it is not too late for a socialist/communist future for our family....and entire Country

The federal government is trying to take over every aspect of our lives.  Our rights come from God not the federal government.  This is just another example where they are looking to reduce our freedom.  In a free market society, the individual should be allowed to choose what is best for them and thier family. The President, Senate and House are not listening to the people.  They have thier own personal agenda.  This bill should be defeated. We need less government, not more and this bill doesn't do that. We need courageous men and women to stand for freedom.

"Trying" to read this bill has been the most frustrating thing I can ever recall doing...

With the exception of trying to explain to my democrat &/or liberal friends that Obama will ruin our country with all of the goals & policies that he's trying to accomplish. & despite not wanting to -- I'm really starting to believe that this has been his intention from the beginning.

Everyone knows the expression: "You are who you hang out with"... & in Obama's case it's nothing BUT radicals, communists, racists, Marxists, & socialists! You can research almost anyone (if not everyone -- I'm not done yet) in his administration & find that comment to be true (unfortunately). This is the first time in my life where I truly fear for my country & my future. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is time to say NO! to the takeover of the health care industry.

first:  the government does not belong in the relationship between my doctor and my family.
second:  who is going to pay for this, the government is already broke, STOP SPENDING and start paying off some of the debt.
three:  the direct cost will come to those that work for a living, that is if our employers do not fire us because we cost too much.
fourth:  Medicare is already broke, why add to the problems, fix medicare first.

If this bill is so great for the American people and the Government wants to run it why isn't Congress under this plan? What is good for us should be just as good for the Government This would be real change and reform if that was to happen.

Republicans find your voice...focus on this issue and defeat it.  Our country cannot afford any form of this.

I am most unhappy with the Speaker and the rest of the house and the senate. I believe there is a way that everyone can have health coverage and still leave those of us alone who already have coverage. I do understand that the President wishes good for all Americans, however, more taxes and taking away our personal choices of physicians and hospitals is Not the way to do this. Denying health care to the elderly because they are old is also not going to work. Old people deserve to have their Health taken care of also.

I haven't read the bill, but I have downloaded and will look it over.  But we know from its sheer size and Left-wing sponsorship that the bill is loaded with mandates, taxes, new bureaucracies and other freedom-killing measures that will suck the life out of the medical profession and private enterprise.

I have heard enough talk about noble motives and good intentions to last me a lifetime.  If we still taught logic and civics in this country it would be painfully obvious to all that to whatever extent the politicians have deluded themselves into believing they are acting in the public good, they nevertheless intend to do harm to the private sector and too personal liberty, and the Constitution.  Why else would they conduct their hearings and deliberations in secret; vote on legislation that doesn't exist, and threaten critics with punitive legislation merely for exercising their free speech rights.

The Leftists and Statists who now control all the levers of U.S. government power, together with an emasculated and neutered media, want this bill to pass because they hold freedom and capitalism in contempt.  They know that if they can takeover one-sixth of the U.S. private economy they can control the behavior and very lives of private companies and individuals for the good of the State.

On the surface, this bill is just another in a long line of liberal-sponsored legislation imposing new taxes, new spending, new deficits and new bureaucracies. In reality this bill represents an unprecedented assault on our freedom of choice, individual liberty and our very way of life.

My husband and I are both scared. We are both on Medicare and wonder what is going to happen to us. We also have a secondary insurance through my retirement? What if I lose it? I feel like our country is turning from a democracy to socialism.  What a mess this country is in. Please don't pass this enormous bill with hidden requirements. What will we do about taxes? We are pleading for this not to pass.

I have never seen a government program that: #1 ran efficiently, #2 stayed within budget, #3 was not full of corruption and overcosts, #4 delivered what it promiced and #5 once was implemented never rescended!

I want less govenrment in my life not more!!

I guess one great beneficiary of this bill will be the printing companies that will have to print all new menus for restaurants all across the country...yeah, every menu must have the calories listed for each menu item and the daily caloric needs of individuals somewhere else on the menu.  the same goes for vending machines. each item on a vending machine must have calories posted by the item. i'm not saying people don't need to be more aware of what they are eating, but seriously come on folks..
