Chairman Jordan Grieves for Families, Demands Justice for Attacks in Libya & Egypt
Washington,
Sep 12, 2012 -
Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Jordan issued the following statement in reaction to the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya and the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.
“Eleven years to the day after 9/11, mobs of radical Islamist extremists murdered our Ambassador and three other Americans in Libya and tore down and burned the American flag at our Embassy in Egypt. I grieve for the families of our fallen countrymen and demand that the murderers responsible be brought to justice.
“These attacks were reportedly committed to protest an act of free speech that has no connection to the United States government. The apologies for these outrages should come from the Libyans and Egyptians, not us.”
